The Event

The University of Wisconsin guard, Connor Essegian, along with Brandtek, is hosting a 3-3 double elimination basketball tournament for boys and girls grades 6-college. The event is scheduled to include a shooting and dunk contest.

The proceeds of this event will go to the Derek Gray Memorial Foundation and Scholarship Fund to benefit students in the Madison community.

Derek was a Madison LaFollette graduate and an All-Conference and All-Region basketball player at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, who passed away tragically on July 24, 2022, from a cardiac episode. In addition, this event will focus on cardiac awareness, particularly in athletes and young people, as well as community health advocacy for African American men.

Event To Be Held

The event will take place on October 1, 2023, from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at Verona Athletic Center (411 Prairie Heights Dr., Verona, WI.
